Cans at Last

After planning to put Weston beer in cans for seven short years it finally happened.  Royal Lager is the first to make it into the new canning line.  Royal Lager will be featured at Sandstone Amphitheater this weekend and at liquor and grocery stores throughout the metro in short order.
Jamie from Cask Brewing Systems came down from Canada to help us get set up.  Jamie originally started talking us into his system at the Craft Brewers Conference in Austin, Texas in March of 2007.
Packaging manager Peter McGinley welcomes his new friend into the brewery.  The canning line came straight to Weston from Calgary, Alberta.
Corey tests the finished product.  After several very careful tests the product was deemed a success to the best of my memory!

New Tanks Are Up and Ready

Weston Brewing is getting ready for a big 2013.  Two new 45bbls fermentation tanks were delivered to the brewery from Oregon this week.  This was both an exciting and gut wrenching event.  These tanks are twice as big as anything we had ever dealt with before.
The first photo is Mike surveying Damon surveying Peter working on placing the first tank.
The second photo shows the tanks in all their new glory.
We are looking forward to getting some Cream Ale and Royal Lager into these beauties.

Mike Turns the Big 40

You only turn 40 once and what better way to celebrate then a few thousand feet above Weston.  Mike had been training to be a pilot when duty and beer called him to Weston nearly eight years ago.  Luckily O'Malley's patron and flight instructor Ric Middlecamp is working to get him back in the air.  Mike and Ric piloted the plane as Corey sat in the back enjoying the ride.  The first picture is Mike and Ric with the Cessna prior to take off.  The other photo is the aerial view of Weston.  If you look closely enough O'Malley's is the big white roof in the center of the photo.

Eric, Corey and Becky show off a delicious pizza Saturday night.  The brewery's pizza is now available at the Saint George Hotel in downtown Weston.  Becky and Erica have been perfecting the recipe for the past several months.  Each component of the pizza has been hand made with care.  Simply no better food pairing for the new Royal Lager!!
